I am still working on the previous BOM (Pathways...) I finally have found the time to begin sewing the blocks together and I'm ready to begin the applique. However I have a question. Are the "red" teardrops appliqued over the flower, or are the teardrops cute out of the main flower part, and the red show through the cutouts?

Hi Beth! I work for Pat Abersold and met you at the Monroe County Quilt Guild meeting where you spoke. I am currently working on your hidden star quilt to give to my daughter for her wedding which is October 14th. I thought you might enjoy the idea I came up with so that I wouldn't have to actually "finish" the quilt in time for the wedding. I am going to cut muslin into squares which I will iron onto freezer paper and then take them to the reception so the guests can all sign them however they want. More work in the long run but less pressure to finish. I have not done much piecing at all and have found this pattern very easy to use. I am glad I chose it for this particular project. Gayle P.S. I will send you a picture of the completed quilt.

Your website is great. I have been sewing for many years, but tired of sewing clothing. In January our church (Romeo United Methodist) started a quilt guild open to both experienced and inexperienced quilters. We meet once a month and have a great time. So far the experienced quilters have shown us some basics and also how to make log cabin blocks, pillows and crazy quilting. The last meeting was a "sit and stitch" and which is fun. Sometime later in the Fall we will probably do some charity quilts. I saw your class advertised in Davison Fabrics newsletter and signed up for "Appliques Anonymous on July 5 and "Summer Days" on July 6. After buying the Summer Days pattern and seeing it displayed in the store I am excited about starting the class, meeting you and learning new techniques. See you next week.

I am an oncology Nurse and would like to know if you would consider designing a pattern for breast cancer patients. There is currently a book on the market with the Pink Ribbon motif and the patterns are lovely but would like something a little more traditional with a woven meaning. Just a thought. Thanks again for many hours of enjoyment. Wilma

Saw your web site when looking up ferriers. Enjoyed seeing someone with the same name. I am an attorney in Athens, Ohio. I grew up in Akron, Ohio as Beth Botzum, but married a Ferrier approximately 15 years ago. His name is Jeff and his family is from Norristown, Pennsylvania. I have always been interested in quilting--my mother is a retired home ec teacher, so I grew up around fabric and sewing. Maybe some day when I retire and have some more time on my hands I will take it up.

If you have a catalog available, I would love to receive one. I do not regularly have internet access, so shopping on line is not really an option. Also, it would be great for you to include your address somewhere in your website. I live in Michigan and would love to find you! My address is: Carrie De Vries 10700 Bliss Road Lake Odessa, MI 48849 Thank you very much.

Love your website and BOM. Someone on the newsgroup rec.crafts.textiles.quilting mentioned this site. I have shared with several friends and co-workers. I think there will be several In The Beginning quilts in my guilds next quilt show.

I am new to quilting and am loving it. I can hardly wait to try "In the beginning"' since you will show mw some of the different techiques I have been reading about. I also copied the instructions for the "Stain Glass... Fooled ya" and will pick up the material for it today. My oldest, no age, loved the look. Thanks for the site. Oh yeah, one last thing, I loved your intro, it is so very very true.
